Himachal Pradesh is the most popular state for summer vacation in India because of its temperate climate; the state has very pleasant weather during summer and is full of eye-catching views which pacify both mind and soul. This state is pleasant during summers and covered with snow during winter, thus, this is named Himachal, which means “in the lap of snow”. Spring is the season of peace in Himachal Pradesh. During March and April there is less rush of tourist as compare to summer and winter season because there is no snow for skiing and this is a not good time for rafting as well; But if someone wants to visit, then he/she should opt southern area of the state such as: Parwanoo and Sirmaur. These places are likely less cold and famous for Shivalik Fossil Park, Renuka Wildlife Sanctuary, Jaganath Temple, etc. Places like Chamba and Salon can also be visited during spring season, knowing the heritage importance of the Maharaja’s palace and relaxing at the lake side and having a cup of local tea is really an amazing experience.
During Monsoon:
Monsoon is the time for celebration in Himachal; as the place is known as the “Abode of God” monsoon is the time when various festivals are celebrated here. The temples as well as the towns and villages are decorated like newlywed bride and mesmerising words of sacred chanting floats in the air; Dussehra in Kullu is celebrated in a flamboyant way and it’s a must watch celebration in Kullu.
During Winter:
Himachal is the heaven for ski lovers in winter, between November and February; the weather is spine chilling, but the tourists still endeavour to see Himachal covered in white powdery snow. The state looks like a fairy tale wonderland during winters and is enjoyable for all age groups. There are various sports arranged for those who do not want to go for outdoor winter sport; one has to check the details with the travel agency before taking the tour package to Himachal Pradesh. Shimala, Kullu, Manali and for most McLeoyd Ganj attract the tourist the most in winters and every place has its own tale and significance. What to Eat in Himachal:
Himachal Pradesh is blessed with breath-taking natural beauty and people with innocence and purity, but their food is equally marvellous with the take that no one can forget after tasting. Dham is the heart of all festivals; this vegetarian delicacy is prepared by the Brahmins of Chamba and served in the dish made out of leaves. Mittha is another famous dish, this the most common dessert made of rice, which is garnished with generous amount of dry fruits. Some of the other famous delicacies of Himachal are Chha Gosht, Mash Dal, Patande, etc., along with the Gulab Jamun from the Mall Road, Shimla.
